While doing some research on High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) or as it will likely be renamed in the future to ‘Corn Sugar’, AP was hard at work spinning the facts. In the article “Corn Syrup Producers Want Sweeter Name: Corn Sugar” an AP Marketing Writer presents the same tired old arguments to counter consumer’s well founded concern over the corn based product.
The article, disguised as an informational piece is nothing more than an infomercial. Like the agenda behind those annoying TV spots from a few years ago where two people discuss HFCS but soon come to the conclusion there is absolutely nothing wrong with the ‘natural’ product, this article is nothing more than a last ditch effort to confuse consumers.
As it is with most facets of the NWO’s full spectrum domination agenda, a simple rebranding is all that is needed to divert the questioning public from the real facts. Henceforth, HFCS will now be known and ‘corn sugar’. Mission accomplished.
HFSC or ‘corn sugar’ is “nutritionally the same as sugar” according to Michael Jacobson executive director of the Center for Science in the Public Interest (funny how organizations built to rubber stamp products are always have an officious title). Simple research into this statement reveals obvious flaws and only serves to gloss over the real concerns.
Surely the science involved in this debate is so complicated only a genius could possibly understand it. Actually, that is not the case at all. the facts are really pretty cut and dry.
The simple fact is that regular table sugar is composed equally of fructose and glucose while HFCS is reported to be slightly weighted on the fructose side clocking in at 55% fructose.
There are two major concerns that immediately present themselves: fructose is a serious health concern and the percentage of fructose reported is only a conservative estimation. In a recent study it’s been found that soda contains as much as 65% fructose.
Extra fructose is a real problem because the substance is processed differently by the body than its cousin glucose.
Glucose is ingested and then harmlessly passes through our intestinal tract and is then excreted as waste. Therefore the extra caloric intake in not absorbed by the body and does not get metabolized as fat. (See Fig. 1)
In sharp contrast, 100% of fructose ingested is directly absorbed by the liver, processed into fat and deposited in the abdominal cavity. (See Fig. 2) In addition, triglycerides levels in the blood sharply spike. Both factors are the leading contributors of the two most dangerous health problems: heart disease and diabetes.
Fructose which is officially a hepatotoxin and can severely overload your liver which and leads to the creation of many waste products including uric acid. It is also believed to be the leading cause of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease which can lead to liver failure.
Pure and simple: the fructose you ingest is changed to fat and stored by your body.
In addition, while glucose suppresses the hunger hormone ghrelin and stimulates leptin (an appetite suppressant) fructose has no effect on ghrelin and interferes with the brain’s communication with leptin. This results in a never ending cycle of ingesting fructose without the satisfaction of feeling full and leads to a never ending cycle of overeating.
The real question which is not even being addressed by HFCS’s spokespeople is why are these numbers so skewed and how long have they known their product is this unhealthy? With health statistics as they are here in the U.S., at best this is a clear example of criminal negligence.
