The first case wasn’t properly recognized and the patient was sent away from the hospital to mingle with other people. The number of people at risk because of that failure was a lot higher than the CDC “originally thought” it was.
Officials tried to keep the public calm and saying that Ebola is only spread by contact with a contaminated person’s body fluids. What they’re talking about is contact with urine, feces, blood, saliva, sweat, semen or vomit.
But with the case in Texas, according to the news, the patient vomited onto the ground before getting into the ambulance. Yet, officials said they weren’t concerned about the vomit.
So which is it? They tell people they can become infected from contact with vomit and yet they’re not concerned there was this very possibility? Later news cameras showed an apartment employee simply hosing down the area – scattering the infection even more.
There’s now dispute about whether he even vomited at all. The truth is, you can’t afford to put your health in the hands of those who are talking out of both sides of their mouth.
