Orion H40-W 500 Lumen LED Tactical Flashlight with Pressure Switch and Rifle Mount
There are plenty of tactical flashlights available but this Orion H40-W 500 Lumen LED Tactical Flashlight is especially for a rifle mounted tactical flashlight to fix to an AR15 or shotgun or any other rifle with a Picatinny or Weaver Rail mount. The flashlight can also be fixed to a pistol.
There are a number of brands selling similar LED’s from cheap no name brands that I wouldn’t trust to bigger more expensive brands such as Surefire who produce quality equipment but at a premium price.
The Orion H40-W currently sells for around $60 and this is a good price for someone like me who would only use it from time to time.
Looking at reviews online delivery is fairly quick and if there is any fault with the product returns are replaced promptly. It comes with a one year worry free warranty for defective or broken parts.
When it arrives it comes nicely packaged in a tough molded case and comes with everything necessary to mount and use the flashlight.
Super Bright
This Orion tactical flashlight gets 5 stars from me for its Stunning Brightness; this is not just your everyday flashlight. At 500 Lumens the output far exceeds what most users would need for a weapon light. This would be a great choice for a home defense flashlight for your rifle as it would blind and disorientate any intruder before having to make a choice to shoot them.
Reviewers like the fact that when the batteries were running out it didn’t slowly get dimmer, it goes from super bright to dim, so you know to replace them.
Extremely Tough
This is a very durable and well-built flashlight, the body is made from high grade aluminum and it is also recoil proof so your flashlight will stay in place. It is also waterproof if it does happen to get submerged in water.
Pressure Switch
The pressure switch works fine but it is the only thing that lets this product down a little. It doesn’t come with anything to secure it to the weapon. Users suggested getting some industrial strength Velcro to fix this.
User Reviews
With over 200 reviews on Amazon and with an overall 4.5 stars out of the possible 5 reviewers can award it, this is a well-received product. Most of the users gave it 5 stars and the negative reviewers which numbered 5% had faulty products that needed returning this is about usual for any electronic products reviewed.
Conclusion
Easy to set up, shockproof and fairly indestructible with a blinding 500 Lumen output this should be everything that most users would require from a rifle mounted tactical flashlight. If you are interested in home defense and don’t want to pay out $150 or more for a Surefire Brand flashlight then this could be a good pick for you.
