5.11 Tactical Men’s TacLite Pro Pants
If you have any interest in tactical gear or are in the forces or law enforcement you have more than likely heard of the 5.11 brand of tactical clothing and accessories.
Though they make a number of great products in this review I am going to discuss the ‘Men’s TacLite Pro Pants’ which are a lightweight pair of pants designed for warmer weather.
The pants come in a variety of sizes ranging from a 28 waist to a 44 waist size. They also come in a range of eleven different colors. They are pretty much what you would expect from tactical pants, no bright colors. My particular favorites are the beige and dark brown. Reading through the many reviews online who are 5.11 fans are buying multiple pairs of these in the different colors.
They actually make great casual trousers in the summer time for vacations or relaxing in addition to their uses for tactical, law enforcement work or for outdoor pursuits like hiking.
One of the complaints about these pants are that they are a little on the baggy side but to me they are roomy and reinforced in all the areas that you want them to be. Nothing worse than a tight pair of tactical pants in my opinion!
The pants are made from a mix of polyester and poly cotton ripstop and have been treated with a wear resistant chemical made from HT Teflon. They are reasonably water resistant as well and should serve you well in a small downpour but not if there was torrential rain.
The trousers have plenty of pockets; it has two deep front pockets and then a front left pocket for a cell phone and a front right pocket that would be suitable to hold a knife. There are then two rear Velcro pockets.
The front left pocket that is designed to hold a cell phone is fairly small so this might be an issue one user commented ‘A galaxy s5 active barely fits in the cell phone pocket’
There are also internal pockets in the knee area if you wanted to add some knee pads.
I always like to point out reviews where users have actually tested items in the field and here a couple of good examples;
A M1A1 Tank Gunner described them as the best quality cargo/military/federal agent pants on the market, period.
Another reviewer who wore them on a Grand Canyon Rafting trip described them as ‘Great roughing it pants’ and that they were cool and comfortable and quick drying. Even when scrambling over rocks the pants were durable.
Comfortable and convenient for carrying all your essential everyday items these make an excellent pair of pants for leisure, law enforcement, tactical or smart casual work purposes. The 5.11 is a respected brand in the Tactical gear market and the TacLite Pro Pants have been proven to perform in the field.
